Leather Items Maintenance Tips
Leather is a genuine natural material and, if properly cared for, will maintain its beauty and patina for many years. Exposure to damp environments is a nightmare; its leads to the leather cortical tissue change which causes mold. Please avoid items contact with water. If a leather item gets wet, the best way is to wipe it inside out thoroughly with a soft dry cloth. Then place it in a well-ventilated area, let it hang to dry out fully & naturally.
Notice: DO NOT use air blower to blow dry or place it near any electronic radiator to avoid the leather surface being stiffed & cracking.
Once the leather is dried, if it is suede leather item, we may use a soft brush to lightly brush the suede leather surface to reinstate the hairy state.
Besides, the genuine leather oil on item will evaporate over time and frequency of use. So to clean & dust off the dire on items regularly is very important. After the regular cleaning, wipe the leather surface by a soft cotton cloth with the leather maintenance lotion evenly, this will restore the tenderness of leather.
Apart from keeping the leather item dry as daily maintenance care, to avoid contact with oil, acid & any volatile substance is also vital. That is, any kind of gasoline, perfumes, hairspray and so on. This type of substances will volatile leather oil and cause cracking; any alcoholic & unknown chemicals may leave watermark on leather surface also will induce item being stiffed.
We should bear in mind the following 5 golden rules in order to maintain the best state of our leather items:
- To avoid contact with rain & water.
- To avoid exposure to humid & damp environment

To avoid direct exposure to sunlight
- To avoid contact with sharp articles
- To avoid contact with grease and oily articles.
Leather Items Storage Tips
Once the leather is fully dried off, hang it with a wooden hanger or hanger with cushion. Put it inside a non-woven cover and store in cool, dry environment. It should NOT be directly expose to sunlight or being placed nearby heater is also not recommended. Avoid the use of plastic cover or container to prevent damping of leather. It will cause molding and make item stiff. Also remember NOT to fold item or put under heavy pressure to avoid permanent creases or even creating cracks.
Notice: DO NOT place storage mothballs or other chemical camphor ball inside item to prevent the deterioration of leather to color. Also advised to replace the wardrobe desiccant periodically, otherwise the liquid may leak & erode leather surface.
